No matter how bad it sounds, the generation that is currently growing is more wasteful than it used to be. Store shelves are full of new items, so we’re throwing things off because we don’t want to fix them anymore. Young people change their computers and mobile phones every year, just because something more modern has been invented. Following fashion is throwing off very good clothes just because they no longer fit in the “new season” fashion. No matter how expensive the things we throw away, they turn into waste in the waste box. As a result, we spend a lot of money each year. Waste is not desirable for the public or the environment, so you should try to produce as little as possible. In order to make the society more economical and at the same time greener, it is necessary to reduce the number of purchases and use the goods several times.
Some suggestions on how to reduce the amount of different waste that will save you big costs:
Every time you buy a plastic bottle of water
You drink its composition and discard it in the trash. Think about how much money you spend and how much waste you make, if you buy and discard this bottle every day. It is more advantageous to buy a bottle where you can pour water or make a juice drink every time. With at least a year of such a bottle, you increase your financial standing.
According to the Natural Resources Protection Council
On average, an American family brings 1,500 plastic bags home from the store each year. By placing each product in your bag, you can come home from the store at least 5 new bags in one purchase. All of this, of course, ends up in the big waste heap. There are dozens of alternative types available today, such as canvas bags, fabric bags, and small folding bags to put in a jacket pocket to never go to the store without it.
At home you use your personal dishes that are washed after a meal
Why wouldn’t the same principle be done at work? It is customary that during the working day, the meal is deducted from the café take-away products, which are included in disposable containers. After the meal, these plastic items are thrown into the waste box. An alternative to this waste of money and self-sufficiency is to take home food and washing dishes. After the meal, you also wash your dishes at the workplace and nothing is wasted.
Paper napkins are one big money trash in a waste container
We wipe the tip of the nose and throw out the napkin automatically in the wells. If there are at least four people in the family and each of them uses paper napkins at every step, then at least 5,000 napkins are used per year, costing about 60 euros. Family budgets as well as large amounts of waste can be reduced by purchasing fabric napkins that can be reused. They can be rinsed easily under a jet of water, for example, by washing your teeth. As we know, forests, including wipes, are destroying a lot of forests, so I suggest reducing the consumption of paper napkins by thinking of a greener environment.
Families, as well as people who live alone
Tend to make food with large surpluses. Already soon they are adding a big waste heap because the next dish is being prepared. For budget saving purposes, the store should not go without a shopping list. By buying too much food, you guarantee that one of them will not be eaten and thrown away. It’s easier to go to the store with just cash, so you spend as much as you intended.
